FAQ Pet-Immune PIR Motion Detector PIR-910

Q: What is Chuango Pet-Immune PIR Motion Detector PIR-910?

A: Chuango Pet-Immune PIR Motion Detector PIR-910 detects motion while allowing your pet (under 25 kgs) to move around with complete freedom with a vertical and horizontal range of 8m/ 110 degrees.

Chuango Pet-Immune PIR Motion Detector uses passive infrared (PIR) motion detector technology to monitor heat changes, which is designed with dual probes to improve detection accuracy. The alarm system will be triggered when both probes detect a moving object. Movements caused by animals will be ignored and thus reduce the likelihood of a false alarm.

Due to automatic temperature compensation and anti-drafting technology, Chuango Pet-Immune PIR Motion Detectors can adapt to environmental changes automatically so that they are more energy-efficient.

Chuango Pet-Immune PIR Motion Detector PIR-910 works only with Chuango Alarm hub together and cannot be used independently.

Q: What is the detection range of Chuango Pet-Immune PIR Motion Detector PIR-910?

A: PIR-910 has a detection range of 8 meters and 110 degrees. The detection distance will change according to the environmental temperature. Other models of PIR detectors have different detection range, please refer to the manual for details.

Q: How to pair Chuango PIR Motion Detector PIR-910 with Chuango WiFi Alarm OV-300/ LTE-400?

A:  1. Tap on the plus “+” icon on the WiFi Alarm page to add the motion detector PIR-910 to the WiFi Alarm.

2. Press the Test Button at the back of the device twice.

3. One beep is heard after the hub receives a signal, which means the connection was successful.

Q: How to replace the battery for Chuango Pet-Immune PIR Motion Detector PIR-910?

A: Press down the snap point and open the back cover. Then you can replace the batteries (1.5V AA LR06 Batteries x2).

Q: Where to place Chuango Pet-Immune PIR Motion Detector PIR-910?

A: It is recommended to mount the Chuango Pet-Immune PIR Motion Detector PIR-910 in the corner of the room between 2 to 2.2 meters high from the ground, parallel to the wall when you want to install it.

Mount the detector at a proper angle

The installation angle affects detection sensitivity. The sensitivity is optimal when the walk direction is vertical to the infrared direction. Choose the best location and angle according to the actual situation and detection scope diagram.

Avoid mounting the detector in areas where draughts may be present or where the temperature may fluctuate greatly, such as near windows, air conditioning, heating, refrigeration units, cooking appliances, and direct sunlight.

Q: How to install Chuango Pet-Immune PIR Motion Detector PIR-910?

A: It is recommended to mount the Chuango Pet-Immune PIR Motion Detector PIR-910 in the corner of the room between 2 to 2.2 meters high from the ground, parallel to the wall when you want to install it.

Place the Sensor in a position where can cover your desired protection area:

a. Fix the bracket to the wall with the fixings kit supplied. For optimum performance set the height of the bracket to 2 to 2.2 meters above ground level.

b. Adjust the angle of the PIR Sensor to cover the required detection area.

Q: How to test Chuango PIR Motion Detector PIR-800/ PIR-910?

A: 1. Remove the activation strip.

2. Self-testing will commence for 1 minute, indicated by the LED flashing every 2 seconds.

3. The LED indicator flashes twice, indicating that the self-testing is completed.

4. Press the Test Button at the back of your Chuango PIR Motion Detector.

5. Walk in the scope by crossing the infrared spectrum and watch the LED indicator to make sure it is working. The LED indicator will flash once when body movement is detected. The test mode lasts for up to 3 minutes.

Q: Meanings of LED indications for Chuango PIR Motion Detector PIR-800/ PIR-910

A: Flashes every 2 seconds: self-testing state.

Flashes twice: self-testing is finished, entering working mode.

Flashes once: movement is detected.

Flashes once every 3 seconds: low battery indication (immediate battery change recommended). If the motion detector is connected with Chuango WiFi Alarm OV-300/ LTE-400, you will receive a push notification via the DreamCatcher Life app, when the battery is low.

Q: Why does Chuango PIR Motion Detector PIR-800/ PIR-910 look like that it is not working?

A: Your Chuango PIR Motion Detector PIR-800/ PIR-910 might enter sleeping mode to save power.

When the PIR Motion Detector detects human body movements more than twice within 3 minutes, it will only send one alarm signal to the hub and then automatically enter sleeping mode. If no movement is detected within the next 3 minutes, it will exit the dormant state and return to the alert state.

* Note: If you want to confirm whether the PIR Motion Detector is working or not, you could arm the alarm system and leave for a while, make sure that no one is in the detection area for at least 3 minutes. If you enter the detection area of the motion detector again, the siren of the alarm system shall sound immediately.
